Light Bulb Moments

I wasn’t sure what to expect from life coaching, so I went in with an open mind to see what would happen.

From the beginning, Andrew was calm and reassuring and took the time to explain what I should expect from the sessions and what participation he needed from me in return.

It seemed that in every session, about 10 minutes from the end, I would have a “light bulb moment” where something that was eluding me just fell into place.
This was purely down to Andrew’s ability to plant a seed and then to sit back to watch it germinate in my mind. This allowed me to question long-ingrained thought processes that were holding me back without me knowing.

Each session was positive, uplifting, and eye-opening. I now look at myself, my decision making and my future dreams in such a different way. I can see how to visualise and make those dreams a reality.

Months on, I have adopted some of his suggestions, have reminders on my wall, and have a deeper confidence in myself and my abilities. I know whatever I chose to do for me and my future, I am fully capable of.

Helping me to restore my balance

My sessions with Andrew have been incredibly valuable in helping me to restore my balance, be able to listen to my inner voice, and understand more around my belief system, coping mechanisms, and how I want to move forward and continue to grow for my future.

Without undertaking these sessions, I suspect I would have continued to overload my sense of obligation would have increased and I would have continued to struggle with balance within my life, and being able to identify areas that I can have more control over, and areas where acceptance of validity of emotions/feelings is just as valid.

I have looked forward to having the dedicated time, space and quiet to explore my growth with Andrew, and have valid his insightful nature and calm and supportive approach immensely!

Great improvements to my working day

Having no previous knowledge of what coaching is or what coaches do, I am really impressed at the progress I have made with coaching and the tremendous help Andrew has been.

I would fully recommend him to anyone that needs some help with their goals. He was incredibly supportive and asked very probing questions, that required me to analyse my behaviours and come up with solutions/ ways to improve my day-to-day working techniques. I found it very beneficial self-reflecting with him because in my day-to-day life, I never have time to do this and this enabled me to make some great improvements to my working day, by making it more efficient and organised.

He also asked me questions to visualise how I would feel when something would be completed which is something I have never done but found that helped a lot to motivate me.

Overall I am very impressed with the whole journey and would definitely get coaching in the future.

Providing the clarity I need

I have enjoyed my sessions with Andrew.

Over the series of sessions, he has engaged in my goals and provided me with the clarity that I needed when I could not come up with solutions to my barriers. Due to COVID-19 I was required to adjust my job and Andrew helped me to come up with options for this. The sessions were very insightful and I learned a lot from them. The sessions were always on time, we always recapped my goals at the start of each session. He was great at listening to my needs and I was able to transition towards the solutions which suited me best.

I would say his strengths include a warm, comfortable atmosphere; great questioning and allowing me the space to think; patience and professionalism.

Becoming the best version of me

The overall impact of my coaching sessions has been amazing. I feel like they have really helped me to discover a side of me that I knew was there but didn’t know how to access it.

We focused on ‘how to become the best vision of me’ pinpointing a few things that I could do to change/help with work tasks such as having the confidence to speak up in meetings. We would set a small task that was easy to manage and didn’t feel too unreachable within the time frame we had. The goals we set were always manageable as I was honest from the start about the lack of time, I had for something new. Each time the goal/task was achieved I was keen to figure out what else we could do to build the best vision of me.

After each session, Andrew would ask me ‘how I’m feeling’? It was a great comfort to know that he had my interests at heart and that I wasn’t feeling too overwhelmed with the tasks we had set out.

We have now come to the end of the sessions and I’m still using the techniques that I have learnt throughout the sessions.

Andrew’s coaching style helped me to open up about my struggles with speaking in public and having all eyes on me. With Andrew’s help, I have been able to change my way of thinking and acting which has then helped me to reflect on situations and look at them differently, allowing the ‘best vision of me’ to shine through.

I have become more aware of my longer term career goals

I have enjoyed working with Andrew as my coach. He has a welcoming and professional style and offers a thoughtful and reflective session.

During the coaching sessions, Andrew has encouraged me to consider my long term goals and aspirations to ensure that I keep on track with the shorter-term actions and activities that we discuss on a regular basis.

I find Andrew to be at his best when he quietly challenges my ‘non-action’ and asks well thought through powerful questions.

An amazing experience…

Working with Andrew has been an amazing experience. I always come out of sessions feeling motivated and inspired to achieve my goal.

During our time together, I did have conflicts in my thoughts and doubts on what I set out on doing. Andrew helped me navigate through those issues and helped me understand the underpinning reasons for my thoughts. As a result of this, I was able to recognise the strength in me and left sessions feeling empowered and clear.

Andrew gave me plenty of thinking space, always listened to what I had to say with utmost dedication. I felt he understood what was going inside my mind and helped me bring pieces together to make sense of everything.

As a result of Andrew’s coaching, I have moved forward in my goal, I am able to remind myself of why I am doing what I am doing. I have a better understanding and tools to protect myself from external influence in my life and business.

Positive reingagement

Following a serious illness and a role change, which I felt had not been well managed. I was feeling disconnected and listless at work.

The overall impact of the coaching sessions are that they have enabled me to positively reengage with my daily workload and set myself clear achievable goals for moving forward.

It has empowered me to have clarity about what I want from my work life in the short to medium term. Which has given me the insight to focus my self led learning and development and start to have key conversations with colleagues and managers.

Andrews patience meant that even though literally the whole world changed, the knock-on effect to work-life balance meant that coaching could carry on, but also his focus meant that the change to work-life balance couldn’t be used as an excuse to not confront challenges I was personally facing in my work life.

Developing tools and skills for myself

The biggest impact for me from my sessions with Andrew was that I began to question some existing thoughts and ideas about my goals, which several times led me to ‘light bulb’ moments about what my goals really were and whether or not I wanted to pursue them. It then became clear to me that there were different but connected goals that were far more important and I was able to then switch my energy and enthusiasm into those.

Responding to, and learning from, Andrew’s style of questioning has helped me develop tools and skills for myself, which will enable me to identify ‘real’ goals and set realistic action plans to achieve them.
